Social Media 101: Tactics and Tips to Develop Your Business Online
by Chris Brogan
This is not a lengthy, academic treatment of the theory and philosophy behind social media. This is an easy-to-read, quick-to-implement smorgasbord of the best social media strategies, tools, and information written with wit and practicality.
I’ve been reading Chris Brogan’s blog for years now. He’s bright, insightful and extremely generous with his knowledge and connections. He continues to deliver excellent content in his latest book — 300+ pages of tips, strategies and great ideas for using social media for business.
I’m a huge fan of this tips-style book — each chapter is a very brief, but detailed-enough discussion of one particular idea — just enough to inform you so that you can get started (or at least get you thinking and checking things out.) You can bounce around the book, choose topics that interest you, learn about them and then get going on implementing them.
Chris covers everything from key elements for success in using social media, to Twitter, to audio and video and blogging — and beyond. If you are a beginner, you can get a HUGE jump start into using social media by reading this book. If you are a seasoned user of social media, Chris will challenge you to think a bit differently and try out some new strategies as well.
I’ve read numerous books on social media over the past year, but this is one of the few that I can wholeheartedly recommend that you get and read RIGHT AWAY!
Thanks, Chris, for an excellent resource and your usual dose of generosity!
